DMTF’s Redfish Forum to Participate in the Open Standards Pavilion at SC24

Posted on Thu, 11/14/2024 - 08:17

Continuing its commitment to industry outreach and education, DMTF’s Redfish Forum will participate in SC24, November 17-22, 2024, at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia. SC24 is an international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis. The Redfish Forum is participating in the Open Standards Pavilion (booth #1815) along with other industry standards organizations including Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA), OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA), Ultra Accelerator Link™ (UALink™), Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), UCIe™ (Universal Chiplet Express™), and SNIA®.

Representatives of the Redfish Forum will be available to speak with attendees about the standard and how Redfish delivers simple and secure management for converged, hybrid IT and the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC). In addition, the Forum will be showing sample implementations of the Redfish management protocol, demonstrating its capabilities for monitoring and control of liquid cooling systems, power distribution gear, CXL and expanded fabrics, and server platforms using the same data model and open source tool ecosystem.

Don’t miss the Birds of a Feather (BoF) presentation on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5:15pm to 6:45 pm EST in room B306, where Jeff Autor, co-chair of the Redfish Forum, will be a part of the discussion on “Dynamic Workloads and Cooling Controls: An Opportunity for Improved TCO.” This interactive BoF will describe and discuss recent efforts in unifying power measurement systems at the compute node level with liquid cooling controls and CDUs. The discussion of future directions will include sites, system integrators and CDU vendors to discuss the benefits of first steps and the long-term goals of predictive load systems for proactive rather than passive cooling controls.

In addition, Jeff will also participate in a panel session titled, “Industry Standards Working Together to Accelerate Innovation in AI and HPC” on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 8:30am – 10:00am EST in rooms B313B-B314. Attendees will learn about the acceleration of AI and HPC technologies and how industry standards bodies are essential to guarantee interoperability and facilitate faster deployment. Collaboration among industry standards groups fosters the development and deployment of advanced HPC solutions, driving innovation, collaboration, and efficiency. Leaders from CXL, DMTF, NVMe, Open Fabrics Alliance (OFA), PCI-SIG, SNIA, UALink, UCIe and Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) will discuss how these standards are collaborating to foster innovation as technology trends accelerate.
