The DMTF recently published the latest release of the Common Information Model (CIM) Schema, version 2.51. The fifty-first update to the Common Information Model (CIM) since the launch of 2.0, this widely used standard provides a common definition of management information for systems, networks, applications and services.

DMTF Releases SMBIOS 3.2
The DMTF has released Version 3.2 of the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) Reference Specification, the premier standard for delivering management information via system firmware. Since its first release in 1995, the widely implemented SMBIOS standard has simplified the management of more than two billion client and server systems.

New Redfish Schema, Specification and Developer Resources Now Available
With the aggressive development of its Redfish® standard, DMTF continues to address customer use cases and technology in converged IT infrastructure management. An API designed to deliver simple and secure management for hybrid IT and the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), new versions of the Redfish schema and specification, as well as additional developer resources, are now available.

DMTF’s Participation in Japan IT Week a Success
As part of its global standardization work, the DMTF provides resources and information for users and developers worldwide. Recently the organization, along with its Regional Task Force in Japan, participated in the 27th annual Japan IT Week Spring, May 9-11, 2018, in Tokyo.
DMTF and PICMG Form Alliance
DMTF and the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturer Group (PICMG) have formed an alliance to help ensure the two organizations’ standards are coordinated and aligned in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) domain. PICMG is a nonprofit consortium of companies and organizations that collaboratively develop open standards for high performance telecommunications, military, industrial, and general purpose embedded computing applications.

SNIA's Storage Developer Conference (SDC) will take place September 24-27 in Santa Clara, CA, and DMTF members are invited to submit a proposal to speak at SDC 2018.
Speaking at SDC offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure for the work you are doing. Share your knowledge and experience by submitting a proposal for consideration. The deadline to submit a proposal is May 10th.
DMTF, NVMe and SNIA Form Three-Way Alliance
The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), NVM Express, Inc. and Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) have formed a new three-way alliance to coordinate standards for managing solid state drive (SSD) storage devices.
