DMTF Adopts Reorganization to Increase Agility - Informational WebEx Presentation Available
On August 28, the DMTF Board of Directors approved and enacted a structural reorganization, seeking to improve organizational agility and efficiency. The Board’s resolution was effective immediately. The structure and mission of the DMTF remains the same, with changes primarily benefiting work group and committee reporting structures.

The DMTF’s new Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF) is working on an open industry standard specification and schema that will enable simple, modern and secure management of scale-out platform hardware for cloud and web-based infrastructures.

As the discussion and debate continues to heat up around the relevance of industry standards when faced with Open Source efforts, DMTF has been given the unique opportunity to participate in the Birds of a Feather (BoF) session titled, "Open Standards vs. Open Source" on Tuesday, July 22, at the Open Source Convention (OSCON). The event also happens to be in Portland, Ore. the same week as DMTF’s Alliance Partner Technical Symposium (APTS) and will be moderated by DMTF President Jeff Hilland.
DMTF Launches Network Management Initiative to Address Today’s Complex Data Center and Network Environments
PORTLAND, Ore. – July 8, 2014 – DMTF, the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on the development, validation and promotion of infrastructure management standards, today announced its Network Management Initiative (NETMAN), which will lead the industry toward the unification of network management across traditional, cloud and software defined data center (SDDC) environments.
