DMTF and Broadband Forum Form Alliance
Posted on Thu, 01/04/2018 - 10:17
DMTF and Broadband Forum (BBF) have formed an alliance to help ensure the two organizations’ standards are coordinated and aligned in order to enable broadband operators and users to deploy cloud services and applications. BBF is a non-profit industry organization (of broadband operators and their manufacturer eco-system) that develops multi-service broadband packet networking specifications addressing architecture, device and service management, software data models, interoperability specifications and certification programs in the broadband market.
This alliance will advance collaboration between the two groups, as BBF references DMTF’s Redfish® API for specifying compute and networking domain manageability of platforms. The BBF has formed a User Managed Objects Framework (UMOF) project to produce a prototype integration of the Redfish API.
