NSM Network Services Management Work Group
Working Group Description
The Network Services Management (NSM) Working Group focuses on developing Common Information Model (CIM) network management profiles, network services profiles and policy management profiles that are applicable to virtualized and hybrid network entities. This Working Group develops the DMTF’s Network Management Initiative (NETMAN), which is an integrated set of standards for management of physical, virtual, application-centric and software defined networks.
The NSM Working Group supports programmability, interoperability and automation of network resources management. Network entities addressed include routing (BGP, etc.) and routed (IPv4, v6, etc.) protocols. The profiles are applicable to L2 and L3 networks as related to the application and services provided by enterprise and service provider’s infrastructure. These network infrastructures are part of data centers, and public/private cloud computing.
