DMTF today announced that the organization’s SPDM suite of specifications has been adopted and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as ISO/IEC 25706:2026. The standards included are:
- Security Protocol and Data Model (SPDM) Specification (DSP0274_1.3.1)
- SPDM over MCTP Binding Specification (DSP0275_1.0.2)
- Secured Messages using SPDM over MCTP Binding Specification (DSP0276_1.2.0)
- Secured Messages using SPDM Specification (DSP0277_1.2.0)
SPDM’s publication by ISO/IEC as an International Standard for platform security is expected to accelerate worldwide adoption and interoperability and is the latest DMTF collection of standards to achieve this designation.
SPDM helps address platform security concerns in a common way and enables platform integrity. The SPDM suite of specifications enables authentication, attestation, and key exchange to support infrastructure security. The SPDM Working Group is also developing additional messages to extend SPDM functionality and other standards that enable and enhance infrastructure security.
